Three Spot Gourami (Blue/Gold/Opaline)
Trichopodus trichopterus
The 'Three Spot Gourami' (15 cm). The most robust, invincible and widespread commercial labyrinth fish. Large, lively and cheeky fish, available in magnificent cobalt blue, gold and opaline liveries. Very easy to breed, but beware of the bossy character in males in cramped spaces.

- The Three spot gourami generates a moderate bioload, requiring a balanced approach to aquarium filtration. Weekly water changes and regular vacuuming of the substrate are recommended to prevent the accumulation of dissolved organics. An appropriately sized canister filter or a well-designed internal filter is often highly beneficial.
