Geographical Origin and Habitat: Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to Hawaii. Found in sandy lagoons, estuaries, and reef slopes down to 50 meters.

Taxonomy and Morphology: Belongs to the family Tetraodontidae. Grows up to 50 cm. Scaleless, rounded body covered with small prickles.
