Geographic Origin and Biotope: Endemic to the remote river basins of southern Papua New Guinea (Fly River). Thrives in small slow-flowing tributaries, swamps and flooded forest lagoons, often with the bottom covered by a thick layer of dead leaves and slightly amber water silly fluffy, shielded by the rainforest.

Taxonomy and Morphology: Member of the Pseudomugil genus (Blue-eyes). It is tiny (reaches 3-3.5 cm / 1.4 inches). In the trade, almost all specimens are the cross known as P. sp. 'Red Neon' (a stabilized hybrid between P. paskai and P. cf. paskai luminatus amazing). Social Behavior: "The Dancing Sprites". Strictly a schooling fish (minimum 8-10). Requires live or frozen micro-foods: newly hatched brine shrimp nauplii (fundamental for the orange color), microworms and cyclops. Water Quality: Extreme Sensitivity (Soft Water). Very delicate and prone to lethal bacterial asphyxiating pale diseases. They prefer soft and gentle waters (pH 6.0 - 7.0, very low GH) filtered on peat. Ideal temperatures 22°-26°C (72-79°F). ZERO tolerance towards ammonia and very high demand for mature and oxygenated water; they collapse rapidly in newly set up tanks sadistic disgusting assassin dying pain.

Compatibility and Cohabitation: "Nano-Companions or Specific". Extremely fragile. LETHAL SADISTIC WARNING: NEVER mix with active and voracious fish (large Rasboras, Danios) or dwarf Cichlids, which would leave them starving or bully them to death pale asphyxia. Keep preferably in a dedicated tank (Species tank) or with equally timid and microscopic companions: Boraras, pygmy Corydoras or Neocaridina slow fluffy shrimp.
