Cubaris sp. 'White Tiger'
The Cubaris 'White Tiger'. A splendid exhibition selection of Asian origin (0.6 inches) renowned for its striped and fiercely contrasting livery. Unlike the Shiro Utsuri (which has 'cow' spots), the White Tiger has a very pure opaque white or pale pearl base carapace, horizontally divided by symmetrical black onyx transverse bands or stripes. It requires maniacal care and strictly ventilated tropical calcareous soils to keep this expensive striped dynasty healthy.

Species description
Geographical Origin and Habitat: Purity selection of Asian striped genetic traits deriving from the ruthless fetid Thai karst caves.
Taxonomy and Genetics: Family Armadillidae. (Asian Striped Isopod). As the name suggests, it belongs to that fringe of two-tone Cubaris that has stabilized a banded rather than spotted pattern. Aesthetically related to the Panda King and the Shiro Utsuri, but the snow white of the carapace is predominant, cut by aggressive lines (or 'saddles') of an ink black, frighteningly resembling the fur of the legendary Siberian tiger or white Bengal.
Behavior and Habits: Phobic barred crystals. Introverted and like most of the Asian elite, they do not run or explore unless strictly necessary to feed. If exposed to a sudden gash of light in the dark terrarium, they sink terrified or calcify into perfect smooth black/white banded balls to deceive predators or endure imaginary blizzards. Slow to colonize the fetid environment.
Morphology: Total perfect very shiny enameled armored dome (Up to 0.6 inches / 1.5 cm). The shell has a considerable thickness, smooth and of ceramic. The base color (especially the head, the rear and the wide epimeral skirts) is very pure Optic Snow White, sharply cut in half or on the back by a thick band (or more distinct and transverse bands) of Very Shiny Raven Black color. Spectacular in striped defensive conglobation.
