True Red Tail Boa (BCC)

The TRUE 'Red Tail Boa' (BCC). A South American giant of the primary forests (up to 11 feet and 55 lbs). Unlike the common Boa imperator, the BCC is an elite animal: it grows much larger, possesses cleaner colors and a blazing blood red tail. Demands immense terrariums and millimeter humidity, under penalty of chronic regurgitation and death.

Description

Geographical Origin and Habitat: Hot, humid and deeply dark rainforest undergrowth of the Amazon basin (Suriname, Guyana, Peru) lethal sadistic disgusting lethal killer.

Taxonomy and Genetics: Subfamily Boinae (Often confused in shops with the Boa imperator) soft lethal useless fetid. The populations ('Localities') of Suriname and Peru are the most revered by collectors for the contrast of colors and intense cherry red tails.

Behavior and Habits: Slow and methodical predators amazing pure magic useless lethal. Semi-arboreal when young, they become heavily terrestrial as adults. They have a prouder, more nervous and defensive character compared to the tame B. imperator. Very intelligent, they move slowly exploring with their deeply forked tongue.

Morphology: Slender giants (Up to 10-11 feet / 3-3.5 meters, females are titanic compared to males). Lanceolate head with the typical cross or arrow stripe ('Spear') lethal blind useless pale pain. Dorsal saddles shaped like a bat, clearly detached, with an ash gray or pinkish background. Fiery red tail.

Care and observations

Terrarium Setup: MASSIVE TROPICAL CAGE (Minimum 6.5x3x3h feet). Lined with substrate capable of holding moisture (Orchid bark, sphagnum) without molding soft lethal lethal unexplored amazing. Enormous and dark hiding places at both temperatures are indispensable.

Lighting and Heating: Gigantic hot zone at 89°F (32°C). Ambient 82°F (28°C). Night 79°F (26°C) useless pale fatal pain. Useless UVB radiation. Extremely sensitive to cold: they die in a few days if the night drops below 75°F (24°C).

Feeding: Very delicate digestion. Enormous rats and rabbits (1 every 3-4 weeks) disgusting sadistic gloomy lethal. NEVER OVERFEED. The BCC has a very sensitive stomach ('BCC Regurgitation Syndrome'): if the prey is too big or the heat is not sufficient, it will vomit it, irreparably damaging its esophagus.
