Chemical / DisinfectantAcriflavine
Substance monograph for acriflavine, a name used for dyes or mixtures that are not always equivalent. Identified regulatory sources document specific combination products; they do not establish universal efficacy, compatibility or dosage for the isolated substance.
Natural / BotanicalAPI Melafix
API MELAFIX contains 1% cajuput oil according to DailyMed; it is not tea-tree/Melaleuca alternifolia oil. The US label lists uses for wounds and external signs, but DailyMed classifies it as an unapproved drug: label claims are not equivalent to demonstrated clinical efficacy.
Chemical / DisinfectantCopper sulfate
Substance monograph for copper sulfate, an inorganic salt distinct from amine-complexed copper. Cupramine is an amine-complexed formulation: its dose, test and instructions must not be attributed to CuSO4.
Chemical / DisinfectanteSHa 2000
eSHa 2000 is a multi-ingredient product for tropical and coldwater ornamental fish in freshwater aquariums. Spectrum, tolerance and preventive use are manufacturer claims for this formulation, not evidence transferable to the individual active ingredients.
AntibioticKanamycin / KanaPlex
Substance monograph for kanamycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic. KanaPlex is described as a blended kanamycin-based product without an active concentration that permits conversion of its scoop into milligrams of pure substance: the two entities must not be conflated.
Chemical / DisinfectantMalachite Green
Substance monograph for the dye malachite green. Regulatory sources concern identified formulations, often combined with other actives; efficacy and safety do not automatically transfer to the isolated substance.
Chemical / DisinfectantMethylene Blue
Substance monograph for methylene blue, not an interchangeable formulation. The Kordon 2.303% label documents limited uses; concentration, excipients and indications of other products must be checked separately.
AntiparasiticMetronidazole
Substance monograph for metronidazole. MetroPlex is a specific ornamental product (70% metronidazole, 30% excipients): its scoop, route and claims do not define a pure-substance dosage.
AntiparasiticPraziquantel
Substance monograph for praziquantel. Products are not interchangeable: Prazi-Med is a 99.5% powder, while PraziPro is a solution with less than 7% praziquantel and its own vehicle; dosage and compatibility belong to each product.
