Acriflavine
Acriflavine Neutral (Acriflavina)
Acriflavine is an antiseptic and dye used in aquarium hobby for its bacteriostatic and antiparasitic properties. It binds to nucleic acids, preventing the reproduction of target unicellular organisms and bacteria. It is commonly used to disinfect fish wounds and protect eggs from fungal attack.

API Melafix
Melaleuca alternifolia extract (1.0% Tea Tree Oil)
API Melafix is an all-natural, botanical antibacterial remedy made from the extract of the Melaleuca tree (Tea Tree). It promotes the rapid healing of open wounds, sores, and damaged fins without disrupting the biological filter or altering water chemistry. It forms a protective barrier over compromised tissue to prevent secondary opportunistic infections.

Copper Sulfate / Cupramine
Copper Sulfate (Solfato di Rame) / Buffered Copper Amine Complex
Copper sulfate and buffered copper solutions (like Seachem Cupramine) are highly effective, traditional antiparasitic treatments used in both freshwater and marine aquariums. Copper works by binding to proteins and inhibiting essential enzymes in parasites. While highly effective, copper levels must be carefully monitored with test kits, as the line between the therapeutic dose and toxicity is very thin.

eSHa 2000
Ethacridine lactate, Copper 2+, Methyl orange, Proflavine
eSHa 2000 is a widely trusted, broad-spectrum disinfectant and therapeutic agent formulated in Europe. It is designed to target a wide range of bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections in freshwater aquariums. Its multi-ingredient synergistic formula targets pathogens at various stages of their development while preventing the built-up of drug resistance.

Kanamycin / KanaPlex
Kanamycin Sulfate
Kanamycin Sulfate is a strong aminoglycoside antibiotic that is absorbed through the gills and skin of fish. It is highly active against a wide variety of Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria. It is highly stable and effective in both freshwater and marine environments, remaining active even at alkaline pH levels where other antibiotics degrade.

Malachite Green
Malachite Green oxalate (zinc-free)
Malachite Green is a powerful organic dye and triarylmethane compound used as an effective ectoparasiticide and fungicide in aquaculture. It works by interfering with the cellular respiration and metabolic processes of target pathogens. Due to its high potency, it is often combined in smaller doses with Formalin to form the synergistic 'Quick Cure' or 'FMC' formulations.

Methylene Blue
Methylene Blue (Methylthioninium chloride)
Methylene Blue is a high-grade antiseptic and dye with a long, proven history in fishkeeping and aquaculture. It functions as a powerful anti-fungal, anti-protozoan, and antiparasitic treatment. Its unique chemical properties allow it to act as an oxygen carrier, making it invaluable in treating gasping fish and chemical poisonings.

Metronidazole
Metronidazole
Metronidazole is a powerful antiprotozoal and anaerobic antibacterial medication. In aquaculture, it is highly valued because it is easily absorbed by fish through the gills and digestive tract. It is the gold standard for treating internal parasitic infections and flagellate-induced disorders.

Praziquantel
Praziquantel
Praziquantel is a highly effective, safe anthelmintic (deworming) medication used to treat internal and external flatworms, flukes, and tapeworms in fish. It works by altering the permeability of the parasite's cell membrane, leading to rapid muscle contraction, paralysis, and expulsion. It is well tolerated by almost all species of freshwater and marine fish.
