Bearded Dragon (Wero)
Pogona vitticeps "Wero"
The Wero morph is an advanced genetic combination that unites two distinct autosomal recessive mutations: Zero and Witblits. To visually express this morph, the animal must be homozygous for both genes (double recessive). The result is a bearded dragon with an extraordinarily clean appearance, devoid of pattern and most pigment, presenting with a predominantly white or very light gray coloration. Compared to a standard Zero, the Wero often shows an even more homogeneous and clean coloration on the shoulders, although it may sometimes present highly localized dark shades, particularly toward the tail. The production of Wero requires several generations of selective mating between heterozygous carriers of both genes, making it a complex breeding project of great value for experienced breeders.
