Taxonomy & Genetics: Belonging to the family Cabombaceae, it is the type species of the Cabomba genus. Genetically, it features a complex leaf structure designed to maximize photosynthetic efficiency under water. No common commercial cultivars exist, though its shape varies slightly depending on light availability.
