JBL LED SOLAR NATUR 59 W, 1149/1200 mm belongs to the now-archived LED SOLAR NATUR family and has a distinct Gen 2 successor. It is an aquarium light bar built around warm- and cool-white LEDs, an infrared receiver and a dedicated power supply. JBL presents it primarily as a fluorescent-lighting upgrade and a light for planted aquariums.

The useful editorial concept retained from the dossier is retrofit flexibility: one platform can fit an existing hood or sit above an open tank. The profile discards the dossier’s plant-growth tests, noise readings, temperatures, comparative lifetime and anti-algae promises because no pinpoint official evidence was supplied for those claims.

This variant suits a keeper replacing a tube of the size shown in the table or lighting a tank within JBL’s stated length interval. The commercial designation and the bar’s actual body length must be checked separately, especially when the model name lists two compatible fluorescent formats.

It is a coherent option for a freshwater aquarium needing manual dimming, coordinated mounts and adjustable white light without immediate dependence on an app. Rated power and lumens do not determine the outcome alone: water depth and clarity, aquascape shadows and plant requirements remain properties of the actual aquarium.

The bar blends groups of warm- and cool-white LEDs. The supplied remote and IR receiver provide on, off, dimming and the system’s preset light choices. Model-specific nominal data stay in the shared table so that they are not confused with the output of another length or the successor generation.

The driver operates one LED SOLAR NATUR and can also power the companion LED SOLAR EFFECT intended for the system. JBL rules out connecting two NATUR bars to one power supply. Multiple IR receivers can respond to one remote when reached by its signal; receiver placement helps avoid unwanted simultaneous commands.

The documented kit includes the remote, receiver, power supply, cable, top-mount brackets and end pieces for T5/T8 sockets. Suspended installation requires the LED SOLAR Hanging accessory. LED SOLAR EFFECT supplies additional colour channels, but it is not a stand-alone primary light and operates together with NATUR.

The optional LED SOLAR CONTROL module adds smartphone scheduling and time-based profiles. Compatibility does not prove current availability: this first generation is archived and JBL identifies Gen 2 as its successor. When replacing a component, confirm generation, connectors and the remote-to-receiver pairing rather than assuming every accessory is universally interchangeable.

Before installation, select one documented arrangement: adapters in the former tube sockets, brackets on the aquarium rim, or suspension with the dedicated accessory. The bar must remain secured and able to shed heat; it is not meant to rest directly on a brace or cover. Official minimum clearances appear in the table.

With mains power disconnected, join the light bar, driver, IR receiver and cable through their keyed connectors and tighten the collars. Keep the power supply away from water and route the cable safely. IP67 protects the first generation in a humid setting and during accidental temporary immersion; it does not permit underwater operation.

After replacing fluorescent tubes or a weaker source, JBL recommends acclimatisation. The IR control can start at a reduced level and raise output progressively; LED SOLAR CONTROL provides more detailed time-based management. The purpose is to avoid an unnecessary abrupt increase, not to pursue one universal setting.

Adjustment should be interpreted through the actual tank: distribution, shaded areas and plant condition are more useful than an isolated number. This profile neither converts lumens to PAR nor prescribes a standard photoperiod, because the cited JBL sources do not publish one setting that fits every layout and species.

JBL requires the driver plug to be disconnected before any maintenance. Limescale and dirt on the underside should be removed with soft material, while the upper surface is treated with a dry lint-free cloth. Hard objects and aggressive cleaners can damage the protective surfaces and must not be used.

Practical checks cover mounts, collars, cables, receiver and deposits that obstruct light or heat release. If the bar falls into water, do not reach for it first: isolate the electrical supply, then follow JBL’s service guidance. This profile does not invent LED replacement intervals or internal maintenance procedures.

Verified strengths are the included retrofit and rim-mount paths, IR dimming, planned compatibility with EFFECT and CONTROL, and a complete identity table. Separating replacement-tube size from actual body length helps prevent purchase of a variant that sounds correct but does not fit the intended installation.

Limitations are the archived status of generation one, optional hardware for suspension, colour and advanced scheduling, and the one-NATUR-per-driver restriction. Moisture protection is not permission for submerged use. Suitability for a particular aquarium must be assessed without turning nominal figures or marketing language into guaranteed biological results.
