Radion XR30 G5 Pro

Radion XR30 G5 Pro belongs specifically to the fifth generation and uses the dual-array XR30 format. Its assembly combines LED clusters, HEI optics, heat sink, fan, buttons and Mobius control. It is neither submersible nor a G6 model: identity, power and LED arrangement in this profile come only from model-specific G5 documents.

Pro uses a balanced, flexible LED mix with more Cool White plus Green and Warm White channels than Blue. Pro does not mean an automatic result: it identifies hardware intended to provide wider room for shaping the visible spectrum.

Light selection starts with depth, illuminated area, rockwork and intended livestock rather than wattage alone. EcoTech’s guide presents XR30 where more energy at depth or a broader source is useful, while advising users to begin with what the aquarium needs and add fixtures only when actual coverage justifies expansion.

Pro suits users who want to move between a whiter appearance, blue emphasis and reflected colors, or adapt light for photography and changing preferences. That freedom requires discipline: a combination pleasing to the eye does not by itself establish correct intensity or photoperiod.

Each array places its colors beneath HEI optics to widen usable area and mix the spectrum. Mobius controls channels, intensity and daily schedule; physical buttons provide basic operation without the app. Available intensity is not the same as suitable intensity, so coral response and consistent measurement should guide adjustment.

Mobius exposes the Pro array channels and stores their schedule. Added control does not alter fixture geometry: optics, height, number of sources and rockwork determine distribution, while channels and intensity determine the spectrum delivered within that geometry.

The XR30 G5 body uses documented G5 mounting points and accessories, but compatibility must be checked against the exact mount. The XR30 G5 diffuser is separate and changes light appearance with a PAR reduction described only as limited, not absent. Do not assume accessories or service parts from another generation fit automatically.

Pro is a G5 reef Radion and is not the XR30 G5 Freshwater. Its housing shares the XR30 format with Blue, but LED array and power differ. Any array-related service part must therefore be verified as Pro G5 rather than merely XR30.

EcoTech specifies secure mounting above the water, a correctly assembled power supply and a drip loop. The fixture must not become wet, be immersed or run inside a completely enclosed hood. Never look directly at illuminated LEDs. Begin a new installation conservatively and increase output gradually so livestock can acclimate.

During setup, settle height and position first, select a starting schedule and only then make small color changes. Changing mount, intensity and spectrum together makes the cause of any observed response difficult to identify. Acclimation remains necessary even when a program began from an EcoTech template.

Routine care means keeping the airflow path open, inspecting mounts and leads and responding to status indicators. Power off and unplug before touching or moving the fixture. The guide does not authorize home repair of LED arrays or driver boards; persistent overheating, fan or hardware faults require stopping use and contacting support.

Greater flexibility can produce many schedules that look similar but are not equivalent. Record changes in Mobius and allow the aquarium time before judging them. Status indicators and ventilation concern hardware health, whereas successful programming depends on observation and measurement rather than driver intervention.

G5 provides broad programming, spectral mixing and a more distributed light field than earlier optics in EcoTech’s comparison. Practical limits remain: one source can leave rockwork shadows, the fan needs open air, the app cannot replace careful setup and high output can harm livestock when applied too quickly.
