Tunze

TUNZE was founded in 1960 by Norbert Tunze and built its identity around compact technical solutions for aquariums. Its sixty-year history records a sequence of developments in circulation and marine filtration, created when much available equipment was bulky or adapted from other industries. The company is now based in Penzberg, Bavaria, and retains family and German manufacturing continuity.

Turbelle pumps are its most recognizable products, generating broad water movement with relatively low power use and optional coordinated control. The range also includes DOC skimmers, Comline filters, Osmolator automatic top-off systems, sensors, magnetic mounts, and complete Reefpack combinations. Integrating mechanics, electronics, and discreet installation reduces plumbing and equipment bulk inside or beside the aquarium.

TUNZE designs and manufactures in Penzberg and distributes through international subsidiaries and partners. It has repeatedly turned technical functions into recognizable product categories, including optical water-level control and adjustable reef circulation. The 1960 date belongs to Norbert Tunze’s original business; the TUNZE Aquarientechnik GmbH legal form and present facility are the contemporary structure continuing that history.
