SaltyShrimp is a German house brand of Garnelenhaus, developed by brothers Frank and Carsten Logemann within their ornamental-shrimp business. The official timeline places in 2007 their work on Sulawesi water analyses and the subsequent development of mineral salts and conditioners with biochemist Roland Lück. The brand therefore grew from breeding experience and applied research, while its current legal operator is Garnelenhaus GmbH.
The line includes Bee Shrimp Mineral GH+, Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+, Sulawesi mixtures, blackwater products, and filter powders. Its formulas remineralize reverse-osmosis or deionized water, adjusting total hardness, carbonate hardness, and conductivity for Caridina, Neocaridina, snails, and fish. The dosing systems are intended to make repeatable conditions that would otherwise require separate measurement and mixing of several salts.
Garnelenhaus manufactures and distributes SaltyShrimp from Barsbüttel, where it also operates the GlasGarten brand and a specialist store. The present GmbH dates from a 2019 corporate conversion and does not replace the SaltyShrimp project date. Roland Lück is credited as the biochemical collaborator on formulations, while Frank and Carsten Logemann are the initiators and historical owners of the house brand, keeping technical development distinct from commercial founding.
