Prodibio was created in Lyon in 1998 to develop, manufacture, and market treatments for freshwater and marine aquariums, ponds, and aquaterrariums. Organic chemist Nicolas Tiliacos acquired the company in 2006 and moved it to Marseille, where it strengthened research and distribution. Tiliacos is therefore the purchaser and leader of the Marseille phase, not presented as the founder of the original business.
Its distinctive format is a single-dose glass ampoule under a protective atmosphere, used for bacteria, trace elements, and other sensitive preparations. The range includes BioDigest for biological filtration, Bioptim, Stop Ammo, nutrient-control treatments, fish care, and aquascaping products. A sealed dose is intended to preserve concentration and separation until use, reducing repeated exposure to air and contaminants.
The recent history includes a significant corporate transition: the official site says that Prodibio joined forces with Red Sea in 2026 to expand distribution, and its legal notice identifies Red Sea Europe as the site publisher. The Prodibio brand continues to present its bacterial solutions but now operates within Red Sea’s commercial perimeter. The 1998 date remains the Lyon creation, distinct from the 2006 acquisition and the integration announced in 2026.
