Neptune Systems

Neptune Systems began in 1996 when engineer Curt Pansegrau built a garage-based system to monitor his aquarium while he worked in Silicon Valley. The solution, first intended for his own tank and those of fellow hobbyists, became the basis of the company and its early AquaController products.

The Apex ecosystem integrates continuous monitoring, controlled power outlets, sensors, DŌS dosing, Trident testing, top-off, pumps and remote alerts. Temperature, pH, ORP, salinity, leaks and power failures can be measured and linked to automated actions through a modular architecture aimed especially at reef aquariums.

Neptune Systems LLC retains a contact base in Morgan Hill, California. Neptune combined with Bulk Reef Supply in 2021 and now belongs to Aperture Pet & Life alongside other aquarium brands; the transaction changed ownership structure but not the 1996 origin or Curt Pansegrau’s founding role. The Fusion platform adds remote access and data history, turning the local controller into a system that can be reviewed over a network.
