Hikari

Hikari is the ornamental-feed brand of Kyorin Co., Ltd., part of the Kamihata group. Official sources are not perfectly aligned: the Japanese brand history uses 1968, while an English company profile gives Kyorin’s incorporation date as 1 November 1967.

Its main specialization is nutrition for koi, goldfish, tropical fish, marine fish and other aquatic animals. Kyorin describes research into palatability, digestion, growth and water quality, while manufacturing is linked to sister company Kyorin Food Industries and factories operating under internal controls.

Kyorin is headquartered in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. Hikari is not a separate company: research, marketing and export belong to Kyorin, while an affiliate handles production. None of the consulted official pages attributes the foundation to a named person, so the corporate picture is best understood through the group structure. Product lines vary formulation, pellet size and feeding method according to species and the animals’ stage of growth.
