Hanna Instruments

Hanna Instruments was founded in 1978 by Oscar and Anna Nardo. The company history describes its development from a family analytical-instrument business into an international organization, with US headquarters in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

For aquariums, Hanna offers photometers, portable testers, electrodes, solutions and reagents for pH, salinity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, calcium, phosphate and other parameters. These products derive from a broader measurement platform also used in laboratories, food, agriculture, industry and water treatment.

Hanna Instruments, Inc. coordinates the US market from Park East Drive, while the brand operates through companies and offices in many countries. Aquatics is therefore a specialist application of the group’s electrochemical expertise rather than its only market; the founders, date and headquarters are all published directly by the company. Reagents and calibration solutions complement the instruments, making measurement a workflow that covers preparation, reading and maintenance.
