AquaClear

AquaClear is a filtration brand owned by Rolf C. Hagen Inc., the Canadian group founded in 1955 by Rolf C. Hagen and headquartered in Baie-d'Urfé, Quebec. The United States trademark file claims first commercial use of AquaClear in February 1979, placing the product line more than two decades after the parent company began. Its identity therefore developed inside an already established Hagen pet-trade network.

The AquaClear range is built primarily around hang-on-back filters. The filter body lets users combine foam, carbon, resins and biological media in accessible baskets, with replacements sold separately. Models cover different aquarium volumes, and media are assigned to mechanical, chemical or biological filtration tasks. Adjustable flow and recirculation allow water movement and contact time to be balanced.

The brand has a narrower specialization than Hagen's overall portfolio and revolves around a modular architecture recognizable across several decades. Newer products are also marketed as Fluval AquaClear and add prefiltration stages or updated details without abandoning the hang-on format. Distribution, service and media availability use Hagen's international structure, while AquaClear retains a defined role inside the aquatic division.
